Passion and Perfection

Sometimes i can get so hung up on perfection and on avoiding mistakes that my passion seems dampened in my performance. That's not a good thing.

I've also seen people (worship leaders, public speakers, medical students, etc.) who haven't acquired the basic knowledge nor the necessary practice; yet they think they can sail on by on the strength of their passion or by sheer willpower (luck) alone.

One really needs a balance of both to touch and move others. An amalgam of acquired skill / knowledge / practice / experience coupled with something innate and personal: your heart / passion / love. Like the spirit of love and mercy flowing with the letter of the law

Don't give up on your dreams without at least trying. Respect yourself by slowing overcoming the obstacles that threaten to swallow your dreams: physical circumstances or social / cultural milieu. Drive yourself towards a goal by improving yourself in some small way everyday.

This little Japanese boy has that balance. He made my day. I hope he makes yours too.
